Just wanted to say I learned about Times Beach because of the History Channel's "Modern Marvels" special on it (re-aired today). As soon as they mentioned dioxin, I was immediately reminded of the Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko who was poisoned by dioxin, resulting in severe health problems as well as a wholly noticeable disfigurement of his face. I hope it comes as some measure of comfort to former Times Beach residents to know that many people around the world are now much more familiar with the harmful effects of dioxin as a result of President Yuschchenko's poisoning, which would also result in much more sympathy for the victims of the contamination at Times Beach. I know it resonated strongly with me as I watched it. Hope all are doing well in your new digs and that you are able to get a 2009 reunion off the ground.
